About
Beth Gadomski, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist, author, and speaker whose work helps people intentionally create relationships that reflect their values, identities, and aspirations rather than externally prescribed expectations. Through her writing, speaking, and clinical work, she developed the Relational Integrity Framework—an adaptive, non-prescriptive approach that helps individuals and partners intentionally co-create relationships grounded in mutual consent, accountability, self-awareness, authenticity, and ongoing choice.
Drawing upon more than two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Gadomski integrates empirical research with a nuanced understanding of identity, attachment, trauma, sexuality, and relational systems. Her doctoral research on ethnic-racial and subcultural identity continues to shape her understanding of how identity, community, and cultural narratives influence the ways people create relationships and experience belonging. She has held clinical positions at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley, where she supported diverse, high-achieving populations before founding her private practice in 2015.
Rather than asking whether relationships conform to established models, Dr. Gadomski's work asks a different question: How can people intentionally co-create relationships that align with who they are, what they value, and how they wish to live? Her work invites people to move beyond inherited assumptions and toward relationships that are consciously designed, collaboratively maintained, and free to evolve over time with integrity.
While her work has particular relevance for people navigating consensual non-monogamy, kink, queer relationships, platonic partnerships, childfree-by-choice lives, non-cohabiting partnerships, chosen family, and other relationships that exist beyond conventional expectations, the principles of the Relational Integrity Framework extend well beyond any single relationship structure. At its core, her work is not about prescribing what relationships should look like—it is about helping people cultivate relationships characterized by integrity, regardless of the form those relationships take.
Her forthcoming book, Consenting Adults, introduces the Relational Integrity Framework to a broader audience, offering an adaptive roadmap for intentionally creating relationships that evolve with honesty, accountability, mutual consent, and psychological flexibility. Rather than prescribing a single model of healthy relationships, the book provides principles and practices that empower individuals and partners to co-create relationships that reflect their unique values, identities, and aspirations.
Today, Dr. Gadomski maintains a California-based private practice providing telehealth therapy while also writing, speaking, and contributing to the evolving conversation about how psychology can better support the diversity of human relationships.

Consenting Adults:
Reimagining Commitment for People and Relationships That Defy Convention
February 2027, North Atlantic Books distributed by Penguin Random House
What if healthy relationships aren't defined by following a prescribed path, but by intentionally creating relationships that reflect who you are, what you value, and how you wish to live?
For many people navigating consensual non-monogamy, kink, queer relationships, platonic partnerships, chosen family, childfree-by-choice lives, non-nesting partnerships, and other diverse relationship structures, traditional relationship advice often feels incomplete—or simply doesn't fit. Consenting Adults: Reimagining Commitment for People and Relationships That Defy Convention offers a refreshingly thought-provoking perspective.
Drawing upon empirical research, more than two decades of clinical experience, and richly illustrated case examples, Dr. Beth Gadomski offers the Relational Integrity Framework—an adaptive, non-prescriptive approach for intentionally co-creating relationships grounded in mutual consent, accountability, authenticity, self-awareness, and integrity.
Rather than prescribing a single blueprint for healthy relationships, Consenting Adults provides practical principles, reflective exercises, and compassionate guidance for navigating the complexity, uncertainty, growth, and evolution that often accompany relationships beyond conventional expectations. Through engaging stories and evidence-informed insights, Consenting Adults empowers readers to question inherited relationship scripts and intentionally create relationships that reflect their unique values, identities, and aspirations.
Written for readers whose relationships fall outside conventional cultural scripts, Consenting Adults also offers therapists, educators, and helping professionals a fresh perspective for understanding and supporting the diversity of contemporary relationships. By expanding beyond heteromononormative, linear, and static assumptions about healthy relationships, the Relational Integrity Framework offers an adaptive approach for cultivating relationships that are intentionally designed, collaboratively maintained, and free to evolve over time with integrity.
Whether you are opening a relationship, redefining commitment, navigating change, repairing trust, strengthening existing partnerships, or creating entirely new ways of relating, Consenting Adults offers an evidence-informed compass for navigating relationships that are as unique and evolving as the people within them.
